Evaluation of Their acting

I am going to evaluate the No. B’s acting. I think, they did well but, there has several problems. Someone acted extra one (not necessary character). That is made me confused. Also, they act with script out. It is very obviously thing but, I mean, they did a good job. That was almost extemporaneous speaking. Therefore, some of parts were not perfect and not smooth. I feel sad about that. Also, the other problem is their decision. The three decisions were very unfair and not advantage to the main character that have the problem with her roommate. The only one thing that I remember is go back to your country. It is too extreme decision. Then, if I have a same problem with the acting, it means, just bear the entire problem and annoying things until my roommate going out? Or just let me go back to my country? It is not a good decision. The decisions were made me angry. If the team is changed their decision, then the acting was more perfect and nice.

Compare Dita and Masika Z. Smith

I am going to compare the case of adjust in the United States which is Dita story and Masika Z. Smith story. There are a lot of similarity and differences. First of all, I will talk about the differences about two cases. They are come from different places. Dita is come from Indonesia and Masika is come from Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa. Their period of living in USA also different, Masika have living in the United States for seven years. And Dita have living in the United States only for one semester. Moreover, Masika was married with a white man. But, Dita is only a student. That means, Masika has a family in the United States. Actually, she made her family in the United States. But Dita has no family in the United States. She is alone. Obviously she did not marry. There has a difference of them about their place where they live in the United States. Masika is West Texas. And Dita is Boston for studying. Masika came to the United States for a bachelor's degree in psychology from a small liberal arts college in West Texas. And Dita had been awarded a full scholarship by the Indonesian government to attend college in the United States. According to Masika’s talking with counselor and she began believing in her ability and herself. She had a passion to study her own and her work. But Dita was not. Because of her feeling of tired and hard, she still got a low grades on her quizzes, tests, and her essay with talking with her professor or discussion out. It means, Dita had not her passion to study very hard at the college.

But, there has also lots of similarity on both of them. First of all, they both are international student. Actually, they are not Native American. Therefore they do not have the perfect English skill yet. And they are women. There are a lot of similarity between their feeling of adjust and adapt to the United States. They both were felt it is not suitable and appropriate about them and their culture. Such as they were had problem about foods, weather, and no friends in there. That mean is they were lonely. They were also had a problem on communicate with their friends, professor, and roommate. I think they actually did not enjoy and love about living in the United States. Obviously, they both were felt about culture shock during the move to the United States. Feelings related with this phase included shock, scare, disappointment, anger and confusion. And they were hard to understand their class. They had conversation with counselor for get some suggestions about how to adjust better to the United States. But the results were not very good. They are hoping to change their life better adjust in the United States. From the starting to the ending, they always carry, worry about their America life. And also think about what is the problem on them.

Smoke Signals Film Analysis Report

Summary and Analysis

Thomas and Victor were main character of Smoke Signal and they were Native American. Victor’s father was like to drink alcohol and play with friends. He used to like to drink everyday and his wife interrupted him and he got upset and left his home. And then he has not come back. But, there has one more reason why he left his home. When Victor and Thomas were baby, Victor’s father did firework at the midnight while he is drunken. Unfortunately, because of his firework Thomas’s house was burn. And Thomas’s father is died after he throws Thomas out of the window. And Victor’s father got the baby. But, he always thought that Thomas’s father’s dead is his fault. So he has to leave the town.

After Victor and Thomas were growing up, Victor’s mother got a phone call that Victor’s father was die. And Victor and Thomas were trying to go to get the bones. They took the bus and walk several days. Finally, they arrived a house where Victor’s bone is. And they talked with a woman who living in the house. The woman was loved Victor’s father and she told Victor about his anxious and his regret. Victor heard the story of his father and went to back to his hometown. He thought his father was not a only like drinking alcohol. His father was really caring about his family. Victor knew the truth and the love of his father.

Relation to Case Study

In the “Smoke Signal” the main characters are Native American. They felt racism in the bus and somewhere in the movie. Because of they are Indian, the bus’s people’s attention were quite not good. The people’s eyes were looks like looking a stranger or beggar. Also, they have stolen their chair from an American while they went to restroom. In the chapter 10, the attention of students to look the Francine and Tony couple was quite not good. I think, there could have much racism anywhere in the whole world.

Reaction to Film

I was really moving on this movie. This movie was the best movie which I have seen movies since I came to Kutztown University. There speech was very easy to understand. Their speech was very easy to understand, there also has a moral. In my opinion, the moral is feel happy when you with your family together. Victor knew the truth of father and his love. He thought the only reason that his father left is alcohol. But that wasn’t. He was feeling sorry for their family and Thomas’s family. He couldn’t live in the town with his crime even that was an accident. But he couldn’t accept it. I think, the movie was very great. I want to watch a movie something like this in the next time.

Chapter 10 - Racism - Case Study Report

1.Statement of the Problem

A.Definition: Some of students are hate Francine and Tony’s relationship.
B.Analysis: Because the couple is relationship of black and white. So other white students do not like this.

2.Suggestion of Possible Solutions

A.Solution 1: They should be together what other student’s behavior and excitement.
B.Solution 2: They should break up their relationship.
C.Solution 3: They should call to school security or police.

3.Evaluation of Possible Solutions

A.Solution1
(1)Advantages: If they really want to be together, then, they should be together. That is love and happiness.
(2)Disadvantages: It is probably very dangerous. They could get injured by some students. Because, the other students are often yelled to them with informal ways and sometimes, they slashed Francine’s car’s tire.

B.Solution 2

(1)Advantages: They will not get any injure anymore. Both of them will safe. In the security side is good.
(2)Disadvantages: If they really do not want to break up, that is tragedy. They could not keep their love. Because of some of students who has a racism.

C.Solution 3

(1)Advantages: They would not get any injure and stress for other students. They will safe.
(2)Disadvantages: If the students, get punish or arrest by police or school security, then after the period of the punishment, they will get very serious attack by them. It will probably very dangerous.

4.Selection of a Solution

A.Choice: I choose solution 2.

B.Justification: If they break up, then they would not get any injure or stress anymore. If they do not have a deep relationship, then it is good time to consider their relationship to break up. But, if they really love each other, they could date other side of the school or I could break up during the period of the university. Then, they can love after the graduation of the university. The most important thing is their safety.
