Smoke Signals Film Analysis Report

Summary and Analysis

Thomas and Victor were main character of Smoke Signal and they were Native American. Victor’s father was like to drink alcohol and play with friends. He used to like to drink everyday and his wife interrupted him and he got upset and left his home. And then he has not come back. But, there has one more reason why he left his home. When Victor and Thomas were baby, Victor’s father did firework at the midnight while he is drunken. Unfortunately, because of his firework Thomas’s house was burn. And Thomas’s father is died after he throws Thomas out of the window. And Victor’s father got the baby. But, he always thought that Thomas’s father’s dead is his fault. So he has to leave the town.

After Victor and Thomas were growing up, Victor’s mother got a phone call that Victor’s father was die. And Victor and Thomas were trying to go to get the bones. They took the bus and walk several days. Finally, they arrived a house where Victor’s bone is. And they talked with a woman who living in the house. The woman was loved Victor’s father and she told Victor about his anxious and his regret. Victor heard the story of his father and went to back to his hometown. He thought his father was not a only like drinking alcohol. His father was really caring about his family. Victor knew the truth and the love of his father.

Relation to Case Study

In the “Smoke Signal” the main characters are Native American. They felt racism in the bus and somewhere in the movie. Because of they are Indian, the bus’s people’s attention were quite not good. The people’s eyes were looks like looking a stranger or beggar. Also, they have stolen their chair from an American while they went to restroom. In the chapter 10, the attention of students to look the Francine and Tony couple was quite not good. I think, there could have much racism anywhere in the whole world.

Reaction to Film

I was really moving on this movie. This movie was the best movie which I have seen movies since I came to Kutztown University. There speech was very easy to understand. Their speech was very easy to understand, there also has a moral. In my opinion, the moral is feel happy when you with your family together. Victor knew the truth of father and his love. He thought the only reason that his father left is alcohol. But that wasn’t. He was feeling sorry for their family and Thomas’s family. He couldn’t live in the town with his crime even that was an accident. But he couldn’t accept it. I think, the movie was very great. I want to watch a movie something like this in the next time.

But, if they really love each other, they could date other side of the school or I could break up during the period of the university. Then, they can love after the graduation of the university. The most important thing is their safety.

Solution.

Advantage: If she improve her listening skill, she can get a good grade and easy to understand the class.

Disadvantage: If she improves her listening skill that will be no time to take a rest. Then she will feel tired.

Disadvantage: She will lose opportunity of study in the United States.

I choose solution number 1.

Because of her main problem is listening. That means if her American friends talk fast, then she couldn’t understand what they saying. So if she improves her listening skill that she can understand the classes and can make lots of American friends. Then she will not feel lonely. Finally everything is going to be fine.

Reaction to film of Animal House

Actually I did not enjoy the film “Animal House”. Because of the movie was an old American movie and the old American culture and their thinking and their mind were very unacceptable for me. Also my English still not perfect. So I would make me hard to understand to this movie. In my opinion, the best solution is conversation. Case study and the movie “Animal House”, if they had more conversation and trying to understand and care each other, then Maria and Delta or Omega did not felt angry and let them get out of college. In conclusion, until watch the next movie, I am going to improve my English skill to more easy to understand the movies.

Relation to Case Study of Animal House

I think the movie “Animal House” and the case study is very similar. They had shown the American college life and what they think about. In the case study, the main character Maria felt sad and lonely and angry, because of the roommate and friends. And the American friends were made a noise. So Maria got stress about that as much as she has felt want to back to her country. In the movie is not a national students problem, but, they also has two part of groups problem.

Summary and Analysis of Animal House

Larry and Kent were became a freshman in the Faber college. They joined to the omega group, But Omega thought they are not combining with Omega group, so the two of them were went to the delta group to have fun. The Delta group was more fit on them in the freedom, thinking and philosophy. But the president of the Faber College and Omega group leader were decided to get the Delta group out of the college. They would change the exam to let Delta get low grade. But the Delta group were known the situation, so, they also decided to revenge to them. So Delta made a plan to break them in homecoming day and broke them perfectly.
